What does YAJAP stand for?
YAJAP stands for "Young African Journalists’ Accelerator Program". YAJAP is a one-year training program to support cross-border work of young African journalists. The 2021/2022 training cycle will focus on the issue of climate justice.
When will the next training cycle start?
The next YAJAP training cycle will start in March 2021 with a kick-off workshop in Johannesburg / South Africa.
Who are the organizers of YAJAP?
YAJAP is conducted by the Rosa-Luxemburg Foundation South Africa and the German Non-Profit media agency JournAfrica!.
Where will YAJAP take place?
The program is divided in three parts. The first workshop will take place in Johannesburg / South Africa (March 2021) and the second in Berlin / Germany (September 2021). The last session will be take place in Cape Town / South Africa (March 2022).
In between the events, you will receive further online assistance and training.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes, of course. After having completed the full program you will receive a certificate by the organizer.
Do I need to pay a fee?
No, there is no fee for participants. The Rosa Luxemburg Foundation covers the costs for your travel (departure and return flights), accommodation and food during the workshops. The workshop and training program itself is free of charge.
